For the third year in a row, GMC has been named the most popular car brand in AutoPacific’s 2016 Ideal Vehicle Awards. In addition, GMC was one of only two automakers with three models that led their respective segments.
Winning the Large Crossover SUV segment was the GMC Acadia. The Yukon/Yukon XL was ranked first in the Large SUV segment and the GMC Sierra led the Light Duty Pickup category for the second consecutive year.
The 2016 Ideal Vehicle Awards poll 65,000 owners of new 2015 and 2016 model year vehicles. After 90 days of ownership, the customers responded to the survey with any changes they would make to their car or truck. The surveyed covered a wide range of areas, including storage, safety features, handling, technology, and power.
“By asking vehicle owners if they would change various aspects of their vehicle if given the opportunity, we not only identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement, but we also find out which manufacturers are truly hitting the mark with owners,” said George Peterson, president of AutoPacific.
